Take the oath, or renounce it
The Seer is two classes wearing one robe. In its oath-taking Reverent form it uses a Catalyst and focuses entirely on supporting the team. Renounce the oath and it becomes a Blasphemer — a mace-wielding melee berserker with life steal that saps HP and attack stats through runes, spending a resource called cursed mana all at once to enter a Zeal state that raises attack and defence.
The support kit is construct runes
What makes the support spec unique is deploying constructs across the battlefield rather than casting heals directly. This table used to be written from a tier-list summary and got two of the four wrong; it is now read off the in-game panel. The correction that matters most is the third row: there is no rune that blinds. It binds.
| Rune | What it actually does |
|---|---|
| Healing Art | Area-targeted healing — but it cannot be used on downed allies and has limited uses per match, with more in trio mode |
| Shelter Rune | Shields everyone in range, then keeps feeding a shield to whoever is lowest. Shield value scales with Attack |
| Binding Rune | Immobilises everyone it connects to, and they cannot jump while breaking free. Each bind on a player refunds Psionic Energy |
| Burst Rune | Area magic damage that refunds Psionic Energy per enemy hit, then leaves ground energy that marks and detonates |
| Death Ward | Prevents death for a window and grants Super Armor with it — and, like Healing Art, does nothing for someone already downed |

Pick Seer to carry your squad, not yourself
This is the clearest before-and-after in the launch patch. The Mace battle caster was quietly the most dominant solo class of the beta, and it was hit with the heaviest nerfs of the update. Meanwhile the support spec was buffed. The read is simple: in a trio, a support Seer is close to mandatory. Solo, those days are over.
How the Blasphemer tree is actually laid out
Read off a 5 August player’s own talent screen rather than from a guide’s summary, so this is the layout as the game prints it. The Blasphemer talents sit in named rings across two pages, and the names matter more than they look: each one tells you which skill the ring is there to modify, which is the fastest way to work out what a Blasphemer build is actually committing to. Individual nodes are not documented here — no tooltip was open in the frame, and guessing which node is which from its position in a ring is exactly the kind of claim this site does not make.
| Page | Ring | What it modifies |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Zeal Enhancement | The Zeal state that cursed mana is spent to enter |
| 1 | Paralysis Curse Enhancement | The paralysis curse |
| 1 | Impact Sigil Enhancement | Impact Sigil, the class’s displacement rune |
| 1 | Shapeshift Enhancement | The shapeshift the launch patch slowed down |
| 1 | Thorn Sigil Enhancement | Thorn Sigil |
| 1 and 2 | Enchantment Enhancement 1 and 2 | Rune enchantment, split across both pages |
| 2 | Way of Discipline · Way of Gylden Hunt · Woodling Expert | General rings rather than one skill each |

Not a solo carry, but an unusually gentle solo class
Those two statements are not in conflict, and keeping them apart is the whole point of this section. Tier lists rank ceilings, and the Blasphemer’s ceiling came down hard. What they do not measure is how much work a class asks of you before it does anything, and on that axis the Blasphemer is the launch roster’s outlier. A player spending their first session on it — after rough attempts at Sorcerer, Blackarrow and Shadowstrix the same day — came away saying the class feels very beginner friendly, and named the reason: the stronger classes need mechanical effort before they pay, and this one does not.
- Read this as an impression from a first session, not as a placement. It is one player, on one day, and the tier read on this page still stands.
- The matchup that punishes it is Blackarrow — named as the class he died to more than any other, which fits a kit whose stated weakness is closing distance.
- It is also cheap to learn on. The same session ran blues throughout and finished up on the day, so the practice runs funded themselves.
