Mistfall Hunter Withered Knight Boss Build (Green Gear)
TayXDc’s solo boss-farming Withered Knight: the Crime execute loop tuned for PvE, Legacy healing off Mist Lord minions, and why green gear is enough for every Hallowgrove boss.

Parry has moved twice since the 31 July capture and both moves favour this build: the 19 August pass reduced its cooldown, and the 28 August pass fixed the long-range dash attack branched from it travelling too fast and throwing the character into the sky. The same 19 August pass slightly increased Pursuit's movement distance. Nothing in the 3 September pass names anything here. Because this is a boss-farming build, note the one line that does apply to every build on the site: the 3 September update fixed two Gyldening damage faults, so any kill time taken from pre-September footage may have been measuring one of them. Documentary check only, no in-game retest.
The 28 August class balance pass changed a pick this build makes. Nobody has retested it on the new numbers, so the build below is what the creator recorded, not what it now does:
- Parry — Fixed: the long-range dash attack branched from Parry travelled too fast and could throw the character into the sky. The cross-class constraint system below is the general form of the same bug.
The 19 August class balance pass changed picks this build makes. Nobody has retested it on the new numbers, so the build below is what the creator recorded, not what it now does:
- Pursuit — Movement distance slightly increased.
- Parry — Cooldown reduced.

What it does
The premise
The same Crime execute loop as the PvP greatsword build on this site, pointed at monsters instead of players: every Hallowgrove boss soloable in green gear, including the six-minute Mist Lord, because boss DPS comes from light and heavy attacks rather than skills. The skills stay PvP picks on purpose — he wants the chase tools for whoever pushes him mid-boss — which makes this the farming complement to Shadowcoast’s duelling build, not a rival to it.
The loop
- Four greatsword light attacks apply wither; three Bad Karma link stacks make the boss slower and — the PvE point — vulnerable, taking more damage.
- Execute with heavy attacks, weaving two light attacks between executes to min-max DPS rather than spamming right click.
- Parry the telegraphed openers for super armour, then “go absolutely ham” through the window.
- On the Mist Lord, kill the spawned minions: with Legacy, each withered kill heals — around 30% from the adds, “basically a free horn”.
Skills
Skill slots, and what is deliberately left out
- A dash and a hook (his PvP picks)?01:00
“I’m running PvP skills and PvE talents” — the dash and hook exist to chase or survive players who push mid-boss. He is explicit the skill slots are flexible here: “the skills won’t matter as much”.
Talents
Talents in the creator's stated priority order
Listed in the order they recommend spending points, not in tree order — the first entries are the ones that change how the build functions rather than how hard it hits.
The extra greatsword skill slot, at the cost of one on the polearm — which this build does not use in boss fights.
- Legacy02:30
Withered kills heal you. Trivia on trash — decisive on the Mist Lord, whose minion waves become a renewable heal mid-fight.
Each execution briefly raises physical damage — inside a loop that executes constantly, that is a standing buff.
- Pursuit03:30
Branch into a fast closing attack after any greatsword skill — picked for pushing back into bosses quickly to keep the wither count alive.
- Parry super armour?03:30
A successful parry grants super armour — the talent that turns each learned boss opener into a full damage phase.
Execution
The parts that are technique, not gear
Copying the talent tree gets you none of this. These are the patterns the creator demonstrates on camera.
Weave two lights between executes 01:30
Spamming the execute is the intuitive play and the wrong one: two light attacks between heavy executes keeps wither applied and DPS higher. The whole loop is M1 M1 M2, repeated.
Learn the opener, parry it 06:00
His Sálmar attempt opens with “he’s going to belly flop on me, going to parry that” — each boss has a telegraphed opener, and with parry super armour the correct response to memorising it is a free window, not a dodge.
Farm the Mist Lord’s adds for health 02:30
The six-minute boss spawns minions continuously. With Legacy, killing a withered add mid-fight restored around 30% health in the footage — the sustain that makes a green-gear attempt survivable.
Honest limits
What this build is bad at
A build page without this section is an advertisement.
- The affix section is empty because the source never covers affixes — the video is talents and footage, and this page will not invent the missing third.
- Green gear is his claim for Hallowgrove bosses; for the Mist Lord he hedges to “might need blue armor”, with gems and enough heals doing the rest.
- The skill slots are PvP picks he calls interchangeable, so this page cannot tell you the optimal PvE skill bar — nobody has published one.
- Parts of the footage show bosses behaving oddly (a second phase arriving early, adds he calls “bugged”), so treat the fight pacing as launch-week behaviour, not a constant.
- Recorded 31 July, one day after the launch patch — the Crime/Bad Karma loop matches the current build, but the 6 August energy-cost buffs postdate it.

6 of 9 listed picks have catalogue records. Only that tier’s linked affix goals preselect; unverified picks stay in the guide. Changing rarity does not calculate a price or guarantee a legal in-game allocation.
