Patch 7 August 2026 update
Updated 2026-08-12

Mistfall Hunter on PS5 and Xbox

Crossplay works on all three platforms. Your save only travels between Xbox and Windows, via Play Anywhere — not to Steam or PS5. Console prices, Game Pass, and what is identical.

The one that costs money

Crossplay works everywhere. Your save travels inside Xbox and nowhere else.

You can queue with friends on any of the three platforms. Your character follows you only between an Xbox console and Windows, because this is an Xbox Play Anywhere title — one purchase, or one Game Pass entitlement, and the same save on both. Between Steam, PlayStation and Xbox it does not travel at all, which is how somebody pays $24.99 a second time expecting their account to be waiting.

What you get on each platform

Most of these answers are the same everywhere, which is the useful part — the console version is not a cut-down one. Two things do differ: what the store sells you, and whether your save travels. Switch to Xbox for the one row that changes.

PlayStation Store: $24.99 base, $39.99 standalone Deluxe Edition, or a $14.99 upgrade. No launch discount was showing at capture.

  • Play with friends on other platforms?YesCross-platform matchmaking is live and was live at launch. A pad player on PC and a PS5 player queueing together is the intended case, not a workaround.
  • Does your progress follow you?NoYour progress does not leave this store. Buying a second copy on another platform starts a second account from zero, and that is not what "crossplay" means. The single exception in the game is inside Microsoft’s ecosystem — an Xbox purchase also plays on Windows with the same save, via Xbox Play Anywhere.
  • Field-of-view slider?NoThere is no FOV or camera-distance control in any menu on any platform. The third-person camera is fixed, and "/fov 120" is a chat message players started typing to ask for one, not a command.
  • Controller supportNativeFully supported everywhere, and the three controller bugs on the launch known-issues list were all closed by the 30 July update. There is no input-based matchmaking, so pad and keyboard share lobbies.
  • Region lockAppliesThe gate is which client build your store account received, not where you live, and it applies on console too. Two friends on different builds cannot party regardless of platform.
  • Deluxe editionSold as a boxPlayStation is the one store that sells a standalone $39.99 Deluxe Edition. Steam sells the same content only as an upgrade DLC, so a PC buyer comparing the two stores is not missing anything.
  • Yes — works as you would hope
  • No — and worth knowing before you pay
  • Depends on the store

Crossplay, camera, controller and region claims are carried from /multiplayer/, /questions/fov/ and /controller/, each sourced there. Console store lines read 11 August 2026; the Steam line samples live.

The camera

There is no FOV slider, and that is not a console limitation

This is the single most-searched console complaint, and the framing is usually wrong — people assume the console build dropped a PC setting. There is no such setting to drop.

No menu on any platform contains a field-of-view or camera-distance control; the third-person camera runs at a fixed field of view everywhere. The /fov 120 that circulated in launch week was never a command — a player typed it into chat as a way of asking for the setting, enough others copied them that it became spam, and several write-ups then reprinted it as a hidden console command. Knowing it is a request rather than a feature saves you from hunting a menu that does not exist. The FOV question page carries the Steam thread where a poster explained the joke.

The pad

Controller is native, and the launch bugs are closed

Three controller-specific problems shipped on the official known-issues list. All three were fixed in the 30 July update, so a launch-week thread describing any of them is out of date.

There is no input-based matchmaking, so a console player is in the same lobbies as keyboard players rather than a separate pool. The one measured cost of a pad is the loot race — loot is shared across the squad rather than instanced, so picking items up is a contest against your own teammates, and creators found controller input measurably slower at it. The fix is positional rather than mechanical: spread across the separated chests in a zone instead of stacking on one. Nothing published measures aim or dodge timing by input device, and this page will not invent that comparison — the controller page has the detail and the sources.

Evidence

What is established, and what this page will not claim

A console page is easy to pad with framerate numbers nobody measured. These are the claims with something behind them, and the gaps are named as gaps.

  • CorroboratedThere is no cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation and Xbox.

Consistent across the developer replies and the community AMA this site cites on /multiplayer/. No source describes progress transferring between the three stores, and no listing advertises it.

  • OfficialXbox and Windows share one purchase and one save, through Xbox Play Anywhere.

The Xbox Play Anywhere badge on the Xbox listing, reported in Microsoft’s own 30 July launch post and independently by Pure Xbox the same day. Play Anywhere is a defined Microsoft programme — one purchase across Xbox and Windows, with saves and achievements shared — so the badge is the claim. This corrects the flat "no cross-progression" this page carried until 11 August, which is true across stores and wrong inside Microsoft’s.

  • CorroboratedNo platform has a field-of-view or camera-distance setting.

The absence is reported consistently across the Steam discussion threads on /questions/fov/, including the post explaining that "/fov 120" is a chat message rather than a command.

  • OfficialDay-one Game Pass, and $24.99 / $39.99 on the Xbox Store with the same 10% launch discount.

Microsoft’s own newsroom post of 30 July 2026, with Pure Xbox the same day naming the tiers (Premium, PC, Ultimate) and quoting the discounted $22.49 / £20.24. This page carried the claim as unverified creator coverage and quoted no Xbox price at all until 11 August; a first-party statement is what changed, not the facts.

  • UnverifiedConsole framerate, resolution or performance-mode behaviour.

Nothing published. No digital-foundry-style analysis of the PS5 or Xbox build exists that this site could find, so the page states no console framerate. /performance/ covers the PC settings that are documented.
