Price and editions
The official launch FAQ lists the Standard Edition at $24.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $39.99, with a 10% introductory discount running for roughly fourteen days from launch — from 30 July 2026 at 01:00 UTC through 12 August 2026 at 17:00 UTC. Regional pricing was confirmed for lower-valued currencies in the community AMA.
Platforms and Game Pass
The game launched simultaneously on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with cross-platform matchmaking supported. Launch-week creator coverage reported it as available on Game Pass day one, which materially changes the calculus if you already subscribe — you can test whether the extraction loop is for you at no additional cost. Verify current Game Pass availability on the Xbox store before relying on it, since catalogue membership changes.
Who this game is actually for
It is a Souls-adjacent extraction ARPG, so the honest recommendation splits along genre lines rather than quality. If you bounced off extraction shooters because losing everything felt punitive, the Soul Form recovery and the safe pouch make this the most forgiving entry in the genre. If you want tight PvP matchmaking, this is not currently that game.
- Good fit: Souls-like combat fans, PvE-leaning players, anyone who liked the idea of extraction but not the punishment.
- Poor fit right now: players who need balanced matchmaking, EU-based players sensitive to latency, and anyone wanting duo queue.
- A pure PvE mode is in development per the community AMA, which is the thing to watch if PvP is your blocker.
How launch actually went
Bellring reported over 100,000 Gyldhunters joining within eight hours of launch, and shipped a stability patch on 30 July alongside a published known-issues list. Steam English reviews sat in Mostly Positive territory early on, with the recurring criticisms being balance and matchmaking rather than the core loop.
