Mistfall Hunter Player Questions
Straight answers to the Mistfall Hunter questions the guides avoid: EU servers and lag, whether there is skill-based matchmaking, whether you can sprint, what the Breakaway cooldown actually is, where combat bags live, and how it really compares to Dark and Darker.
Questions with answers the guides skip, because the honest answer is "the game does not do that yet" or "nobody has published that number". Each page states the answer first, shows the dated evidence, and says what would have to change for the answer to move. Where the most-quoted complaint thread predates the 30 July launch, we say so — recycling playtest grievances as current is the most common mistake in this corner of the internet.

The questions, and the short answers
Does Mistfall Hunter have EU servers?
There is regional infrastructure and EU players do connect to it, but you cannot choose your region — it is assigned from your account — and EU players are reporting severe ping instability that the developers have not yet addressed as a routing problem.

Does Mistfall Hunter have a duo mode?
No. Matchmaking is solo or trio only, and Bellring has ruled a duo queue out twice in writing — "we currently have no plans for this" in March, "we will not be opening Duo matchmaking in the short term" in July. Two friends have exactly two options: queue trio with squad fill turned off — you keep all three mission-chest rewards but fight a player short — or use the recruitment hall to pick up a third before deploying.

Does Mistfall Hunter have skill-based matchmaking?
No skill-based matchmaking has been officially confirmed. Lobbies are gated by the gear requirements of the map difficulty you queue for, which is a floor and a ceiling on equipment — not a rating that tries to match you against players of similar ability.

Should you play Mistfall Hunter over Dark and Darker or Dungeonborne?
Play it for the combat: third-person, stance-swapping and free-aim, which is a genuinely different game from Dark and Darker’s first-person dungeon crawl. Be sceptical about longevity — that is the axis on which this genre’s previous entries have failed, and Mistfall Hunter has not yet been tested on it.

Can you sprint in Mistfall Hunter?
No. There is no sprint to bind. You move at a single speed on foot, and every burst of pace in the game — the dodge, a Breakaway, a class dash — is a combat tool with a cost attached, not a travel button.

Why is the Team feature locked in Mistfall Hunter?
Two different problems share this wording. If you have not reached Windrest Camp yet, the Team menu is locked by design and finishing the tutorial opens it. If you have reached camp — and especially if you have already extracted once — and the Team or camp menu is still locked, that is a reported bug with no published fix; a developer directed affected players to open a Discord ticket rather than offering a workaround.

What is the cooldown on Breakaway?
There is no published number, and a fixed one would be wrong anyway: Breakaway runs on an internal cooldown that shortens the more damage you deal and take. Any page quoting you an exact figure in seconds has made it up.

Where did my combat bag go?
Nowhere — they are not carried in your inventory. Combat bags are free gear sets you equip out of at the Warehouse in Windrest Camp, and the reason one can look missing is usually that the difficulty you queued for does not allow that grade of bag.

Do you need blue or purple gear to enter Chaos difficulty?
No. The requirement is a value, not a rarity: your equipped gear has to total at least 800 Gyldenblod. Green gear reaches that, and the current figure is shown in the equipment hub directly above your gear set — so the answer to "am I geared enough" is a number already on your screen.

Does turning on Path of Glory put you in lobbies full of sweats?
No. Path of Glory judges how you play and adjusts your MMR; it does not put you in a separate queue or guarantee ranked opponents. You will still meet unranked players, bad players and good players — which means the toggle costs you nothing and pays a blue and a purple combat bag, so there is very little reason to leave it off.

Should you pay to change your class in Mistfall Hunter?
Usually not. Paying to reclass an existing character buys one thing — you keep that character’s level. Everything else people assume they would lose is account-wide already: the camp, the warehouse, the forges, your auction listings, your quests and your gold all carry across to a new character. One launch-build creator reports paying the fee three or four times, for around 3,000 to 4,000 gold, before realising it.

Is Mistfall Hunter region locked, and can you play with friends abroad?
Yes. The lock is not a server picker you have failed to find — it is a split at the client level: your Steam store country decides which build you download, and a build only reaches its own servers. Two people on different builds usually cannot even find each other in a friend search, and there is no in-game way to switch. A Bellring staff account acknowledged the problem on the Steam board in the launch window and said they would try to find alternative solutions.

Can you change the FOV in Mistfall Hunter?
No. There is no field-of-view slider and no camera distance option, on PC or on either console — the third-person camera runs at a fixed field of view. The "/fov 120" you have seen quoted is not a console command; it is a message players typed into chat to ask for the setting, which spread far enough to become launch-week spam.

What is the max level in Mistfall Hunter?
Level 12, for every class. The cap carried over from the beta unchanged — a player asked on the Steam board on launch day whether it was still 12 and had a one-line confirmation within fifteen minutes. Levelling is the shortest progression track in the game: ranked play opens at level 6, and everything that keeps a character improving after 12 is gear, Path of Glory ranks and camp upgrades rather than experience.

Does Mistfall Hunter have character creation?
Yes, and more of one than most extraction games bother with. Creating a character means picking one of the six classes and then customising appearance — body type, face, hair and the rest — in a proper editor. The part people ask about on the boards is the second half: none of it is permanent. An Appearance Reset at the Gyldenblod Pool, in front of Dew at camp, re-opens the editor for an existing character for Gyldenblod, body type and gender included. The one thing no editor changes is your class — that is a new character, and the game makes new characters cheap on purpose.

How do you get Soul Coins in Mistfall Hunter?
You mostly do not earn them — you are granted them. Soul Coins are the game’s cosmetic currency and nothing in an expedition drops them. The real list: two launch mail grants of 500 each (the second claimable until 1 September), duplicate event cosmetics dismantling into coins, roughly a track’s worth inside the Season 1 battle pass, and — since 12 August — the Mistchaser Shop, the counter Soul Harvest tokens are spent at. The store page people find instead sells Fate Coins, the paid currency, and players confirmed in the first week that Fate Coins spend in Soul Coins’ place at checkout.

What is Shadow Veil in Mistfall Hunter?
It is two mechanics wearing one name, which is why the guides seem to contradict each other. On the Sorcerer, Shadow Veil is a castable skill: hold to chant, then vanish into Stealth — at the price that Energy stops regenerating while you stay hidden. On the Shadowstrix, Shadow Veil is not a skill at all but a Dagger state: exiting Stealth with an attack drops you into a semi-stealth that PvE enemies lose track of and players struggle to see at range, re-enterable up to three times — and a Dagger backstab from it is always a critical hit. If a guide mentions chanting, it means the Sorcerer; if it mentions backstab crits, it means the Shadowstrix.

Does Mistfall Hunter have lock-on targeting?
No, on any platform — there is no target lock and no key you can bind for one. The button a soulslike player instinctively presses places a waypoint marker, which is how most people discover the answer. Players have asked since the June playtest and again on launch day; nobody official has replied, and the most-repeated community explanation is that two classes are built around invisibility, which a lock-on system would have to either break or be broken by.

How do you trade items in Mistfall Hunter?
You sell; you do not trade. The game has no player-to-player trade window and no gifting, and the workaround everyone tries first — dropping an item mid-run for a friend to grab — reportedly does not survive extraction: the player who tested it publicly says the crow mailed the dropped items back to him after the run. What actually moves items between players is Pip’s Auction House at camp, and that is a sale for Gyldenblod at a price you set, not a swap.

Can you sell multiple items at once in Mistfall Hunter?
Probably yes, at Cazarro — but this page will not tell you it is certain. One source, MistfallDB, states in its player tips that you can bulk sell idle items directly from your inventory and warehouse at Cazarro. It carries no date, and the two guides that cover that exact screen in the most detail — One Hit Kill’s market and warehouse guide, updated 13 August, and GameRant’s tips guide from 29 July — describe per-item vendor value and auction listing without mentioning a bulk option anywhere. So: look for it at Cazarro, and if it is not there, the documented route below is the one that definitely works.

Is there a Mistfall Hunter demo?
Not any more. The game ran a free playtest that the official account explicitly called a demo, and it ended on 22 June 2026 at 10:00 UTC with the beta teardown: servers shut down, all playtest data wiped. Since the 30 July launch there has been no demo on any storefront and no announcement of one returning. The inexpensive way to try it today is Game Pass, which carried the full game from day one.

Can you play Mistfall Hunter offline?
No. The game is online-only and a developer said so in as many words: every mode needs a live connection, solo included. You can play alone, but you cannot play disconnected — and a PvE mode is planned without a date, described by the same reply as taking "a considerable amount of time".

Is Mistfall Hunter on GeForce NOW?
No, you cannot stream it on GeForce NOW today, whatever the 30 July headlines said. NVIDIA's own August post contradicts itself — it lists Mistfall Hunter among July's additions and then closes by saying the game "didn't make it this month". Xbox Cloud Gaming does carry it, and Game Pass Ultimate is the one route that covers both the game and the streaming.

Why these are separate from the guides
A guide teaches you to play better. These tell you what the game does not currently do — which is a different kind of claim, and needs a different kind of evidence.
Every answer here states its verdict before its reasoning, links the dated thread it came from, and ends by saying what would have to change for the answer to stop being true. That last part matters in a live-service game: an answer without an expiry condition quietly becomes wrong.
One sourcing rule applies throughout. A player complaint is only evidence about the current build if it was posted after the 30 July 2026 launch. The most-linked matchmaking thread in this game’s history is from the May 2025 playtest, and it is still being quoted as though it described the shipped game — so every source on these pages carries its date, and pre-launch ones are labelled.
