What is actually happening
The complaint is not simply "high ping". It is instability: an EU player in the 1 August thread describes a connection that sits at a stable 50–60ms and then spikes to 300, 600 and 1000ms. What makes that specific to this game rather than to their broadband is the pattern players describe — the lag arrives when another squad does.
- The thread’s opening complaint is that you can tell someone is nearby because you start lagging, and that fighting multiple teams at once becomes impossible.
- A second player in the same thread separates the two failure modes explicitly: this is desync, failed hit registration and enemies snapping to new positions, not frame rate.
- Players elsewhere report being held on NA servers while physically in Europe, at around 150ms.
The official reply, and what it does not cover
A developer posting as Priscilla replied in that thread on 1 August 2026. The reply is genuine engagement rather than silence, and it is worth reading — but it is a client-performance answer to a network question. The suggestions are to disable ray tracing, switch DLSS to FSR, lower graphics settings and cap frame rate between 60 and 120, then open a support ticket on Discord.
- None of those steps change which server you are routed to.
- The one player who followed up said as much: the problems were network-side, not hardware.
- There is, as of this page’s update, no official statement announcing dedicated EU server regions or a manual region selector.
You cannot pick your region, and that has a knock-on effect
Server assignment is determined by the system, with account region among the inputs. That single design decision produces the other complaint people arrive with: EU and NA players often cannot party together, because the regions are segregated. The workarounds that circulate involve one player accepting a badly degraded connection so the other can play normally.
