Patch 30 July 2026 launch update

Mistfall Hunter: Where Did My Combat Bag Go?

Combat bags are not in your inventory and not lost. They are equipped from the Warehouse at Windrest Camp, they are gated by the difficulty you queue for, and Scavenger Squad expeditions are what replaces them.

Short answer

Nowhere — they are not carried in your inventory. Combat bags are free gear sets you equip out of at the Warehouse in Windrest Camp, and the reason one can look missing is usually that the difficulty you queued for does not allow that grade of bag.

Where this is being asked · By new players who found a combat bag early, went looking for it in their bags before a run, and could not find it.

Evidence

The answer, broken into claims

A grade describes sourcing, not truth. Inferred means we concluded it and the reasoning is shown; unverified means someone asserted it and nobody stands behind it.

  • CorroboratedCombat bags are equipped from the Warehouse at Windrest Camp rather than carried in your inventory.

The camp-station breakdown in the launch-build beginner guide.

  • OfficialBags are graded Novice, Advanced, Pro and Elite, and each map difficulty accepts only some grades.

Published difficulty requirements — Hallowgrove Normal allows Novice, Advanced and Pro.

  • CorroboratedScavenger Squad expeditions are the recurring source of new bags.

Described as an offline expedition loop returning materials over several hours.

  • InferredA bag that looks missing has almost always been filtered by a difficulty gate.

Our reading of why the question is asked: the two failure modes are "not in inventory" and "not selectable here", and both have ordinary explanations. No patch note records bags being moved or removed.

§01

They live at the Warehouse, not in your inventory

A combat bag is a free gear set rather than an item you carry. The Warehouse is the camp station that stores everything you extract, and it is also where you equip gear out of combat bags — which is why searching your inventory for one turns up nothing. If you have never upgraded the Warehouse, this is the station worth doing first for exactly this reason.

§02

The grade is why one can look missing

Combat bags are graded Novice (white), Advanced (green), Pro (blue) and Elite (purple), and map difficulty decides which grades you may bring. So a bag you definitely own will not appear as an option on a run whose gate excludes it. This is the single most common reason people conclude a bag vanished — it is filtered, not gone. Hallowgrove Normal, for instance, allows Novice, Advanced and Pro.

  • Two vocabularies overlap here and cause most of the confusion: bags are Novice/Advanced/Pro/Elite, while gear quality runs Excellent (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (orange).
  • The mapping is worth memorising: Novice is white, Advanced green, Pro blue, Elite purple.
  • Difficulty gates are written in terms of both, which is why the two scales have to be held apart.
§03

Where new ones come from

Combat bags are consumed rather than permanent, so the real question behind "where did it go" is usually "how do I get another". The answer is the Scavenger Squad: an offline expedition system where you send creatures out for several hours and they return with materials, and it is the most consistent source of new combat bags. Upgrading it unlocks more zones and shortens expedition times. Dispatching before you log off is the habit that keeps you supplied.

Expiry condition

What would have to change for this answer to be wrong

An answer about a live-service game without this is an answer with a hidden expiry date.

Bellring Games changes where bags are equipped from, or rebalances which grades each difficulty accepts. Both are the kind of quality-of-life change this game has already shipped between patches.
