Mistfall Hunter Einherjar Mode: Dried Flower Knots and Mist Lords

Einherjar Mode is the Knot-gated Mist Lord challenge opened by the 6 August update, and it carries a raised chance of Holy Weapons. Two other things in this game are also called Einherjar — this separates them.

Applies to 7 August 2026 updateUpdated

By

You need a Dried Flower Knot, and it is consumed.

Knots began dropping with the 6 August client update, which is the same update that opened the Mist Lord challenge. Winning it carries a raised chance of Holy Weapons or Holy Forging Materials — higheris Bellring’s word, and they published no figure behind it.

  • A Dried Flower Knot. Legendary rarity, and it drops in ordinary runs. The 6 August update is what started it dropping.
  • A Mist Lord to spend it on. Bellring has named three: Sálmar the Cursed Moonwane, Otto the Flesheater and General Harald.
  • Where you spend it is not documented. No official post names an altar, a menu or a prompt. Every site that tells you otherwise is repeating an unsourced sentence, and this page will not add an eleventh copy of it.
  • Whether a wipe eats the Knot is not documented either. Nobody has published a run that settles it. Budget Knots as if a failure consumes one, because that is the assumption that cannot cost you anything.

Disambiguation

“Einherjar” means three different things

Two are live, one was removed before launch, and a search for the word returns all three mixed together. This is most of why the topic reads as confusing.

Einherjar Mode

The Knot-gated Mist Lord challenge, opened by the 6 August 2026 client update. Winning carries a raised chance of Holy Weapons or Holy Forging Materials. This is the one this page is about.

Einherjar Ship Grave

A location, not a difficulty — a key-locked room north-west of the Watchtower. It shares nothing with the mode except the word, and it is what most "Einherjar" videos are actually about.

Einherjar, the enrage phase

In the 2025 playtest a boss went into "Einherjar" by itself if you were too slow to kill it. No consumable, no choice. That mechanic is not in the launch build, but the videos of it still rank.

The third one is the trap. A video titled “Final Boss Hard Mode (Einherjar)” uploaded in May 2025 is showing a mechanic that predates the launch build by fourteen months. Check the upload date on any Einherjar guide before you follow it.

What is established

Official, observed, and merely repeated

Most of what is written about this mode is one unsourced sentence copied sideways. These are graded rather than blended together.

  • OfficialDried Flower Knots drop, and Mist Lords can be challenged in Einherjar mode.

Bellring Games, 6 August Live Update, under New Content: “Dried Flower Knots will now start to drop! Challenge Mist Lords in Einherjar mode and prove your strength!”

  • OfficialDefeating the Mist Lord in Einherjar mode carries a higher chance of Holy Weapons or Holy Forging Materials.

Bellring Games, The Second Wave of Launch Rewards, 1 August 2026. “Higher” is the entire disclosure — no rate has been published, then or since.

  • OfficialThe Knot started dropping on 6 August, rather than becoming more common that day.

The 1 August and 6 August posts both say start. The 5 August roadmap says the update would “increase Dried Flower Knot drops”, which reads as though they were already dropping and is the odd one out of the three.

  • CorroboratedHoly weapons are one-per-boss and come from Cataclysm difficulty.

LaserBolt, 30 July 2026. A specific boss drops a specific weapon, which is what makes target farming the point rather than a grind. The only one filmed so far is a hammer from Otto.

  • UnverifiedThat the Knot is used at a Mist Lord altar.

Repeated across several competing wikis with no primary source on any of them. No official post mentions an altar, and we have found no capture showing one. Listed because a reader arriving with it in their head deserves to see it addressed rather than silently contradicted.

  • UnverifiedThat a failed run consumes the Knot anyway.

Plausible, widely stated, and demonstrated nowhere. The run ledger on this page exists to settle exactly this, because it is a question a few hundred logged runs answers and no amount of argument does.

  • InferredThat Einherjar footage published before 30 July 2026 shows a different mechanic.

Read off a May 2025 playtest capture in which the boss enters Einherjar unprompted when the kill is slow. Graded inferred rather than official because Bellring never published a note retiring the old behaviour — the evidence is that the new one is gated and the old one was not.

The receipt

An in-game unlock ring at 83% with the key named beneath it, reading Fine Key - Einherjar Ship Grave
The Ship Grave door mid-unlock, captured 4 August. Two things no official post states are legible here: a key is named for the single location it opens, and the wear grade is part of the item's own name. The (9/2) is left unread — a count and a capacity is the obvious guess, and a guess is not a reading. From BeardMapsYT's route capture, captured 7 August 2026. Check the live page — it is the authority, not this crop.
§03

The payoff

What the raised chance is for

Holy items are not the top of the colour ramp — they sit beside it, carrying exclusive gameplay affixes that exist on nothing else. The reason a raised chance matters is that the drops are not a shared pool: each boss holds its own Holy weapon, so a Knot spent on the right Mist Lord is aimed at one specific item rather than at a lottery.

  • One boss, one weapon. Farming the fight that holds the weapon you want beats drifting between maps.
  • They are tradeable. A Knot spent on a boss whose weapon you do not want is still worth spending, because the auction house prices it.
  • You can lose it. This is still an extraction game, and a Holy weapon you carry into a run belongs to whoever kills you on the way out.

No full list of Holy weapons has been published anywhere official, and the creator who explains the system best says so himself. Any site showing you every Holy weapon with exact affixes and numbers has reconstructed them.

§04

Run ledger

Nobody published a drop rate. Build one.

Two things about this mode are unknown and both are measurable: how often a Knot yields a Holy drop, and whether a wipe consumes it. This ledger stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded — and exports as JSON or CSV so a group can pool runs.

0Runs logged
0Knots spent
Holy drop · 0 kills
Knot lost on wipe · 0 wipes

Nothing is bundled with this page. Log a run to start a sample.

A rate computed from your own twenty runs is a sample, not a drop rate, and this panel will not call it one — which is why every figure above carries the count it was divided by. It is still worth more than the confident percentages circulating elsewhere, because those have no runs behind them at all.

Einherjar Mode FAQ

You need a Dried Flower Knot, which is what gates the challenge. Where exactly you spend it has never been published — the official posts say only that Knots drop and that Mist Lords can be challenged in Einherjar mode. Several wikis say the Knot is used at a Mist Lord altar; none of them cites a source, so this page reports that as a claim rather than as the answer.

Also states outright that no full Holy weapon list has been published anywhere official.
  • BeardMapsYT — Einherjar Ship Purple Key Location, HallowgroveLaunch build, published 4 August 2026. Silent 87-second route capture, which is why it is cited for what is on screen rather than for anything said. Source for the Einherjar Ship Grave being a key-locked location north-west of the Watchtower, and for door keys carrying both their location name and their wear grade in the item name.
  • Ghost Walrus — Final Boss Hard Mode (Einherjar), Otto the FlesheaterMAY 2025 PLAYTEST BUILD, fourteen months before launch. Cited only as counter-evidence: at 02:30 the player describes Einherjar as a state the boss enters by itself when the kill is slow, with no consumable involved. That is not the Knot-gated mode the 6 August 2026 update opened, and this is the clearest record of the older meaning that still circulates in creator footage.

Three official announcements carry everything established here. The creator sources are cited for what is visible on screen rather than for commentary, and the May 2025 capture is listed as counter-evidence — it is the clearest record of what Einherjar meant before launch.
