Mistfall Hunter Elemental Sorcerer Build (Solo)
Fire Bolt, Crystal Icebolt and Thunderstorm Sigil, with Wind Craft and Forbidden Gate holding the space you need to finish a chant. Skills, talents and affixes.

What it does
The premise
Elemental damage is gated behind a chant, and a chant is a promise to stand still. Fire Bolt only pays its partial true damage when the chant completes, so every other pick in this build exists to buy the seconds that takes — Wind Craft and Forbidden Gate to deny the approach, Crystal Icebolt to slow what gets through, and a dodge-cancel talent so one panic roll does not throw the cast away. Played correctly it out-damages anything at range. Played at the wrong distance it is the squishiest kit in the game, and both sources say so in their first minute.
The loop
- Open the ground before the fight: Forbidden Gate across the lane they have to walk, Thunderstorm Sigil where they will stand.
- Chant Fire Bolt through the approach. The chant, not the cast, is the damage.
- Crystal Icebolt anything that clears the zone — the slow buys the next chant rather than killing.
- Dodge without cancelling. The talent that lets you hold a chant through a roll is what makes the kit playable at all.
- Disengage on cooldown rather than on health. With no cooldowns up you are simply dead, which is the failure mode both sources name.
Skills
Skill slots, and what is deliberately left out
Control rather than damage. Its job is to make the next chant possible, not to finish anyone, which is why it stays slotted even when the damage numbers argue against it.
Placed zoning. The creator rates its area as short and its zoning as merely acceptable, and keeps it anyway — a placed threat the opponent has to path around is worth more here than a better cast bar.
Half of the zoning pair. Kept over alternatives he says he could not make work consistently, and the pairing with Forbidden Gate is the point rather than either skill alone.
Talents
Talents in the creator's stated priority order
Listed in the order they recommend spending points, not in tree order — the first entries are the ones that change how the build functions rather than how hard it hits.
- Forbidden Gate?19:30
Blocks enemy units and lets allies through, and allied units passing it gain movement speed. Called a must-take. On a kit whose losing condition is being reached, a wall that only stops the other side is the defensive cooldown.
- Elemental Arcana / Elemental Surge line?18:30
The Elemental tree taken as a line — masterful technique, elemental arcana, elemental surge, then rapid and flame strike. This is the branch that gives Fire Bolt its partial true damage on a completed chant.
- Chant-through-dodge?20:30
Dodging no longer interrupts the chant, on a cooldown. The creator notes the cooldown exists because without it the talent would be broken — you hold the chant, roll, and release after. Nothing else in the build changes how it plays as much as this.

Execution
The parts that are technique, not gear
Copying the talent tree gets you none of this. These are the patterns the creator demonstrates on camera.
The chant is the build 18:30
Fire Bolt deals partial true damage, and does not when the chant is incomplete. That single rule reorganises everything: the zoning skills are not utility, they are cast time; the dodge talent is not comfort, it is the difference between a cast landing and being thrown away; and the affix priority puts survivability above damage because the damage is already in the chant.
Zone the ground, not the target 17:00
Forbidden Gate blocks enemy units while letting allies through and speeding them up, and Thunderstorm Sigil holds a patch of floor. Neither is aimed at a player. The kit wins by making the route to you expensive, which is a different habit from every other ranged class on this site and the one that takes longest to learn.
Disengage on cooldowns, not on health 16:30
The stated failure state is having no cooldowns available, not being low. A Sorcerer at full health with everything spent is already lost; one at a third with a gate and a dodge is fine. Read the bar you actually die to.
Honest limits
What this build is bad at
A build page without this section is an advertisement.
- Both sources open by calling it the hardest class in the game, and neither softens it. Master Deemo says so in his first minute and repeats it before the build section.
- It is button-heavy in a way the other classes are not: a chant, two placed zones, a movement talent and a disengage, all live at once.
- No cooldowns means dead. Not weakened — dead. This is the only kit on the site whose losing condition is a resource state rather than a health state.
- The talent names here are read off machine captions of a spoken guide rather than the client, so they are flagged as name-uncertain and should be checked against your own talent tree before you spend points.
