Soul Coins do not drop from expeditions. Every source is a grant: launch mail (500 twice, one still claimable), event duplicate conversions, the battle pass track — and the store sells Fate Coins, which spend in their place.
You mostly do not earn them — you are granted them. Soul Coins are the game’s cosmetic currency and nothing in an expedition drops them. The real list: two launch mail grants of 500 each (the second claimable until 1 September), duplicate event cosmetics dismantling into coins, roughly a track’s worth inside the Season 1 battle pass, and — from 14 August — the Soul Harvest exchange shop. The store page people find instead sells Fate Coins, the paid currency, and players confirmed in the first week that Fate Coins spend in Soul Coins’ place at checkout.
Where this is being asked · On the Steam board on 2 August — a player holding 1,000 coins, 200 short of the 1,200 battle pass, who could not find Soul Coins for sale anywhere. The thread’s answer (use Fate Coins, they count the same at purchase) is half of what this page documents.

Evidence
The answer, broken into claims
A grade describes sourcing, not truth. Inferred means we concluded it and the reasoning is shown; unverified means someone asserted it and nobody stands behind it.
OfficialTwo launch mail waves granted 500 Soul Coins each; the second is claimable until 1 September 2026. Duplicate Twitch and Gylden Rush cosmetics convert to Soul Coins. The Soul Harvest exchange shop will trade in them from 14 August.
The 30 July and 1 August reward announcements, both events’ published rules, and the Wave 3 roadmap of 5 August.
CorroboratedThe Season 1 battle pass costs 1,200 Soul Coins, and Fate Coins substitute for Soul Coins at purchase.
The 2 August Steam thread: 1,000 in hand, 200 short, and the substitution confirmed by the asker after trying it.
CorroboratedSoul Coins do not drop from expeditions or quests.
Stated flatly by the 3 August guide, and consistent with a help thread in which no player could name a farming route.
UnverifiedThe battle pass track returns around 700 Soul Coins; Mall weapon skins run 1,500 and Moonlight Nectar 200 per unit.

§01
Every source, and what it is worth
This is a grant economy, so the honest answer is a ledger rather than a farming route. Rows marked official are announcement-sourced; the battle-pass figure is one outlet counting the track by hand.

§02
What they buy, and the number that anchors it
The one price the community has confirmed by accident is the battle pass: the Slumbering Contract costs 1,200 Soul Coins, which is exactly why the thread’s author was 200 short with 1,000 in hand. Around it sits the Mall’s cosmetic stock — weapon skins reported at 1,500, Moonlight Nectar at 200 a unit — none of it mechanical.
The 1,200 figure is arithmetic from the thread plus the pass page, not an announcement — treated as corroborated because two independent players transacted against it.
Mall prices beyond that are single-outlet reporting and graded accordingly.
Moonlight Nectar being purchasable for coins connects this currency to the Star Silver cosmetic chase, which is otherwise a separate, slower economy.
§03
The Fate Coins confusion, settled by the people it confused
The store sells Fate Coins for money and appears to sell Soul Coins not at all — which is the actual reason this search exists. The 2 August thread resolved it in three posts: buy Fate Coins, and at checkout they spend in Soul Coins’ place. One outlet asserts Soul Coins can be bought directly; the player who went looking could not find them. This page sides with the first-hand account and will flip if the store changes.
Expiry condition
What would have to change for this answer to be wrong
An answer about a live-service game without this is an answer with a hidden expiry date.
A repeatable in-game source ships — the Soul Harvest exchange is the first candidate, and its rates will say whether "grant economy" stays true — or the store starts selling Soul Coins directly, which would make the Fate Coins workaround unnecessary.

Every source, with its date
A complaint posted before 30 July 2026 describes the playtest, not the game you bought. Those are flagged rather than quietly mixed in.
The 1,200-coin battle pass price by arithmetic, that the store offers only Fate Coins, and that Fate Coins substitute at purchase — confirmed by the asker.
That no expedition source exists, the ~700-coin pass-track count, and Mall pricing samples. Also asserts direct real-money purchase, which the Steam thread contradicts — the conflict is noted in the prose.
