Mistfall Hunter How to Hide Helmet

The setting is called Hide Headgear, it lives in the Appearance screen, and it hides the model without unequipping the armour — so you keep every stat.

Hide Headgear, and what it does not cost you

Five slots take an appearance. One of them has a toggle — and it suppresses the model, not the armour.

HeadModel shownStats apply

The slot the Hide Headgear toggle acts on. Hiding it suppresses the model only — the armour stays equipped and every stat on it keeps applying.

ChestStats apply

Transmogrifies to an owned outfit’s chest piece. No suppression toggle is reported for this slot.

GlovesStats apply

Transmogrifies to an owned outfit’s gloves.

PantsStats apply

Transmogrifies to an owned outfit’s legs.

ShoesStats apply

Transmogrifies to an owned outfit’s boots.

Every row keeps its “Stats apply” marker in both states — that is the answer to the question people are really asking. Necklace and Ring are equipment but sit outside the appearance system entirely, so there is nothing to hide or reskin on them.

  • Has a hide toggle
  • Transmog only

Slot list, the Hide Headgear naming, the empty-slot rendering rule and the necklace/ring exclusion are from MistfallDB’s cosmetics reference, corroborated on the outfit side by Mistfall Hunter Guide (updated 9 August 2026). The stat column below is a demonstration of the documented behaviour, not a readout from the game.

The receipt

MistfallDB cosmetics reference: The option is called Hide Headgear, not hide helmet, which is why it's easy to miss. It's a per-slot toggle in the Appearance screen and hides your head armour's model without unequipping it, so you keep every stat.
The receipt for both halves of this page. The naming — “Hide Headgear, not hide helmet” — is why the setting is hard to find, and “so you keep every stat” is the part that actually stops people turning it on. Cropped to the sentence rather than the page, because a receipt nobody can read on a phone is decoration. MistfallDB — Skins & Cosmetics, captured 12 August 2026. Check the live page — it is the authority, not this crop.

§01

Why you could not find it

The game does not use the word "helmet" for this. The toggle is called Hide Headgear, it is a per-slot control on the Appearance screen rather than an option in the settings menu, and searching the settings for "helmet" returns nothing — which is why this is one of the most-asked questions about the game and one of the least-answered in text.

§02

You do not lose the stats

This is the part worth stating plainly, because it is the reason most people hesitate. Hide Headgear suppresses the head armour’s model. The armour stays equipped and every stat on it keeps applying — you are hiding a mesh, not taking off a piece of gear. There is no defence cost to playing without a visible helmet.

§03

What the Appearance screen controls

Five slots take an appearance. Two pieces of equipment do not participate at all, which surprises people who go looking for a way to reskin them.

  • Outfits transmogrify the look of a slot without touching its stats.
  • An outfit’s appearance only renders while that slot actually has armour equipped — an empty slot shows nothing, not the outfit.
  • Necklaces and rings are equipment but are not part of the appearance system.
  • A separate display setting controls whether you see other players’ custom appearances during a match.
  • An Appearance Reset option clears every customisation at once.

Mistfall Hunter How to Hide Helmet FAQ

Open the Appearance screen and turn on Hide Headgear for the head slot. It is not in the settings menu, and it is not called "hide helmet" anywhere in the interface, which is why it is hard to find.
