What the Deluxe upgrade actually contains
Eight lines, quoted from the store listing. 7 of them are appearance items and the ninth thing is currency — there is no stat, no slot, no class and no early unlock anywhere in it. That is the whole answer to whether it buys an advantage.

Fate Coins are the cosmetic currency, and the game sells them separately — which means the upgrade can be priced against them. It is, two sections down, and it wins. The Fate Coins entry covers what they buy in game.
Two restrictions the store prints and nobody repeats
- Cannot be shared through Steam Family Sharing.
- The bonuses can be claimed only once per account — buying the upgrade again does not grant duplicates.
Between them these explain most “my Deluxe items never arrived” reports: the upgrade is outside Family Sharing, and a second purchase grants nothing.
The catch
“Deluxe Edition” is a different product on each store
This is the part that makes cross-store comparison misleading. On Steam there is no Deluxe box at all — only an upgrade bolted onto the base game. On PlayStation both exist. A reader who sees a $39.99 edition on one store and none on the other concludes the PC version is missing content; it is not.

There is no Deluxe box on Steam. You buy the base game, then app 4572310 upgrades it — in either order, at any later date, for the same total.

Standalone edition and an upgrade
Both routes exist here: a $39.99 Deluxe Edition, or the base game plus a $14.99 upgrade. The store showed no launch discount on either at capture.
Xbox Series X|S

The game launched on Xbox Series X|S the same day, but this site has not read the Microsoft Store listing directly, so it will not quote an Xbox price or edition shape it has not seen.

It carries 2,500 Fate Coins, and Fate Coins have a price list. Put the upgrade on the same axis as the six retail packs and the question stops being a matter of taste.

Buying safely
Keys, CD keys and why this page names no resellers
Roughly sixteen thousand searches a month look for a Mistfall Hunter key or ask how to redeem one, and the pages that answer them are mostly affiliate lists.
Redeeming a key you already hold
In the Steam client: Games → Activate a Product on Steam. There is no redemption page on the game’s own site, and a key that fails there is not a key for this game.
Why no reseller list
A resold key bought with a stolen card is revoked when the chargeback lands, and the buyer carries the loss. At $22.49the saving is a few dollars against losing the account’s copy entirely — so this page has nothing to recommend.
Regional pricing is not a loophole
Türkiye really is about half the US price, and buying through another region’s store breaches the Steam Subscriber Agreement. The purchase gets reversed; the discount was never available to you.
The other question
Why so many people ask whether it is free
Two things that really were free, and are both over.
The June 2026 playtest was open and cost nothing, and it is the build most surviving pre-launch footage was captured on — so a search that surfaces a June video surfaces a game that looks free. Those servers shut down on 22 June and every account on them was wiped, five weeks before release. The second is the launch-reward waves, which are genuinely free and genuinely being given away, but they are in-game items for people who already own the game rather than a route to owning it. If neither is what you meant and you want to play without buying, Game Pass is the only door — see the Game Pass page, and check the Xbox store for current catalogue membership before subscribing on that basis.
