Skill and talent names on this page come from creator guides recorded in the launch week. A few are transcription-sensitive and are being checked against the in-game text — where a name is uncertain we flag it inline instead of stating it as fact. This page covers what launch coverage actually established for the Blackarrow. A skill-by-skill breakdown lands once a dedicated class guide exists to check it against — we would rather leave a gap than fill it with guesses.

Launch verdict
One of the safest solo picks, and part of the early consensus meta trio.
Best for
Players who want to scout, choose their fights, and leave the ones they do not want.

Strengths

  • Six abilities from two subsystems: up to three arrow imbues plus up to three weapon skills.
  • A status warfare build with bleed, poison, exhaustion, paralysis and traps that wears targets down before they close.
  • Shadow Step gives short stealth cloaks and a tracking sense flags danger before it finds you.
  • Strong in both solo runs and squad fights, which few kits manage.

Weaknesses

  • Nearly helpless at point-blank range.
  • Squishy, and full-draw windups are punishable.
  • Took real launch nerfs to paralysis duration and mobility out of stealth.

What the 30 July 2026 launch update changed

  • Shorter paralysis.
  • Reduced mobility out of stealth.

Two subsystems, six buttons

Blackarrow splits unusually. One half is arrow types: equip up to three, and triggering one imbues your next ranged shot with an effect — extra damage, an area component, an immobilise, or something else. The other half is conventional weapon skills such as Sky Piercer, which unleashes a devastating single-target attack after a long windup. Three plus three gives you six abilities spanning damage, control and utility.

Burst spec or status spec

One specialisation is about fully drawn burst shots and mobility, deleting targets in open arenas with Sky Piercer and Rapid Arrows. The other turns you into a status machine — bleed, poison, exhaustion, paralysis and traps whittling opponents down before they ever reach you. The status route is the one that pairs with the class’s scouting tools into a genuinely safe solo playstyle.

The class is an information advantage

What actually keeps Blackarrow on solo lists is not the damage, it is tracking sense flagging danger before it finds you, plus Shadow Step to leave. You scout, pick your fight, and vanish from the ones you do not want. Play it as a class that decides which fights happen and the squishiness stops mattering.

Blackarrow FAQ

Is Blackarrow good for solo play?

Yes, it is one of the two safest solo picks in the launch build alongside the Withered Knight. Tracking sense and Shadow Step let you avoid the fights you cannot win.

What are the Blackarrow specs?

One focuses on fully drawn burst shots and mobility with Sky Piercer and Rapid Arrows. The other is status warfare with bleed, poison, exhaustion, paralysis and traps.

Was Blackarrow nerfed at launch?

Yes — shorter paralysis and less mobility out of stealth. The easy wins from the beta are gone, though the class remains strong.
