Mistfall Hunter Shadowstrix Dual Blades Build (Skills, Talents, Affixes)
Master Deemo’s 7 September Shadowstrix rebuild after the teleport nerfs: Smoke Bomb as the new disengage, Poison Crow Mark for the healing block, Wound Buildup for true damage, and blue/purple/gold affix tiers.

Checked against the 3 September notes, which increased Phantom Shift’s cooldown and reduced Spinning Slash’s Super Armor duration — the two changes this build is a response to. The creator keeps Spinning Slash and drops the teleport, and says so on camera. Everything here is his stated preference with his own hedges kept; this site has not retested any of it in game, and several picks he calls optional are marked as such rather than promoted into a fixed list.
The 15 September class balance pass changed a pick this build makes. Nobody has retested it on the new numbers, so the build below is what the creator recorded, not what it now does:
- Fervor — Damage boost effect slightly reduced. The only gem affix in the pass, and no figure is published for it.

Choose a replaceable kit
- Blue15:56
Elusive, Vitality and Valor are his stated top three, with Fervor fitted in because this class stacks it fastest. His drinking order on the third wine is Fervor to level 5 first, then Valor as high as it goes.
- Purple17:20
Same top three, with the remaining slots turned defensive because the class gets one-shot. Resilience at level 4 or better is the one he argues for — a stunned Shadowstrix is a dead one — and Aegis at 2. He calls Aegis interchangeable with Tenacious or Stoic, and says Ethereal is only worth points if the wine leaves you spare.
- Gold19:20
Tenacious, Aegis and Resilience together, plus Seeker as the extra. He flags Seeker as conditional on your own movement rather than a flat gain — it pays for footsie play and nothing else — and says he would swap Aegis for Tenacious if forced, because this class reaches half health often.
What it does
The premise
The 3 September pass gave Phantom Shift a long recovery animation, and this build accepts that rather than working around it: the teleport comes out of the kit and Smoke Bomb takes its place as the disengage. The creator’s position is that the class stopped being the best one and became a healthier one — you no longer get a free reset, so the fight has to be won with the debuffs on Poison Crow Mark and with movement.
The loop
- Open with Poison Crow Mark where you can land it. The slow and the reduced dodge distance run for five seconds before Curse, and the talents on it add a healing block and a blind (08:30; 09:00).
- Punish into the slow. With their dodge shortened you can walk into range and hit them after the dodge rather than before it (08:30).
- Use Spinning Slash for pokes and to contest — it kept its damage through the range nerf, and Unstoppable is what guarantees the hit lands (08:00; 15:00).
- Disengage with Smoke Bomb, not with the teleport. Inside it they are slowed and cannot heal, so a chaser has to spend a dash or a skill (06:38; 12:30).
- Flash Stride is the instant dash for both directions — entering and finishing — and needs no talent investment (07:00).
Skills
Skill slots, and what is deliberately left out
Replaces Phantom Shift as the disengage. The perk he takes blocks or reduces healing inside it, and the slow is what stops a chaser walking after you.
- Flash Stride?07:00
An instant long-range dash used for engage and disengage both. He calls it a must and notes it needs no talents. Caption spelling is not corroborated by a catalogue record.
- Spinning Slash?08:00
Kept after the range nerf: fast, good damage, and his preferred poke and contest tool. The 3 September notes cut its Super Armor duration rather than the skill.
The build’s highlight, in his words. A ranged hit that slows and shortens the target’s dodge for at least five seconds before Curse is counted.
Talents
Talents in the creator's stated priority order
Listed in the order they recommend spending points, not in tree order — the first entries are the ones that change how the build functions rather than how hard it hits.
His pick over Battle Frenzy this patch, for true damage that ignores the defence a purple or gold opponent is carrying, plus energy restore. He says Battle Frenzy remains viable if you want faster uptime.
Attack cancelling. He calls it a must — it buys feints and dodges out of animations you otherwise cannot leave.
- Sensory Poison?11:50
The blind-and-deafen half of the Crow Mark talents. He names it explicitly as the one to cut first if you want the slot, provided the healing block stays.
- Wound Infection?12:30
Slows anyone chasing you through the smoke. He calls it “almost a must” and says a confident smoke player can drop it — his hedge, kept.
Deflects projectiles, restores energy and stacks physical damage up to four times. He takes it specifically for the ranged matchups, Blackarrow named.
Cooldown reduction on the light-strike skills, which is most of this kit. Listed as a must.
Super armour, to contest other super armour and to stop pokes being interrupted. He has seen the build run without it and says the pokes get much weaker.
The named alternative, not part of the main list: a melee-leaning swap that recovers energy on Bloody Blade and Fang Rush. He states the cost outright — you lose the deflect, so ranged matchups get worse.
Affixes
Affixes to chase
Level 4 or better on the purple kit. Shortens freezes and stuns, and he frames one landed stun as a death for this class.
- Aegis18:20
Level 2 for resistances, scaling with armour rarity. He calls it interchangeable with Tenacious or Stoic.
Execution
The parts that are technique, not gear
Copying the talent tree gets you none of this. These are the patterns the creator demonstrates on camera.
The disengage is a zone now, not a button 04:27
The teleport was instant and let you leave any fight; the recovery animation added on 3 September means using it in a fight is a free hit for the other player. Smoke Bomb is not an equivalent — it does not move you — so it has to be dropped before you need it, and the value comes from the slow and the healing block on whoever follows you in.
The healing block is what wins the poke war 09:00
The Crow Mark talent line stops the target healing outright. He shows the use case as somebody breaking off to horn: they spend the horn, get nothing, and the fight resets in your favour. That is the exchange the build is built to farm, now that resetting the fight yourself is no longer free.
Honest limits
What this build is bad at
A build page without this section is an advertisement.
- It is harder than the pre-patch class, and he says so repeatedly. Without an instant teleport a misread engage is a death rather than a reset.
- Squishy enough that the purple and gold kits spend most of their slots on defence. If you are used to building for damage, this is the change.
- Two of the talents — Sensory Poison and Wound Infection — he names as cuttable, so the list is a preference and not a solved build.
- No in-game retest by this site. The matchup footage is the creator’s own, and it includes fights he loses.

17 of 21 listed picks have catalogue records. Only that tier’s linked affix goals preselect; unverified picks stay in the guide. Changing rarity does not calculate a price or guarantee a legal in-game allocation.
