The June event was a real, downloadable free build — the official account announced "the free playtest is live now through June 22" and told players to "head over to Steam to download the demo". The absence of a demo matters less here than in most $25 games, because the full game shipped into Game Pass on launch day. A subscriber is not trying a slice — it is the same live game, same servers, same account progress. The game-pass page owns the details, including the cross-progression fine print that differs by platform.

Both tests this game has run ended the same way: teardown, wipe, nothing carried.
