Mistfall Hunter Shadowstrix Build — Bait and Stun (Swanifier)
A launch-build Shadowstrix setup that opens by baiting an attack rather than by ambushing it, with both loadout codes the creator published.

What it does
The premise
Most Shadowstrix writing treats the class as an ambusher: open from stealth, win or die. This build inverts the opening. Shadow Strike carries invincibility frames on the cast, so the play is to walk in, let the opponent commit to a swing, eat it with the i-frames, and recast behind them while they are still in recovery. The stun that follows is not a gamble — the target has already spent their attack.
Loadout codes

A description can be edited long after the video is not. If one of these no longer imports, the date above is how stale it is — the code is reproduced as published, not reconstructed.
The loop
- Walk into range rather than opening from stealth.
- Let them swing, and i-frame the swing with Shadow Strike.
- Recast behind them while they are locked in recovery — the stun lands on a committed target.
- Spend the stun on Spinning Slash and Blade Dance, and let Excitement and Blade Dance refund the energy.
Skills
Skill slots, and what is deliberately left out
The bait. The creator is explicit that its value is the i-frame on the cast, not the opening damage: eyeframe the attack, then recast behind for a guaranteed stun.
The ranged version of the same idea. Catches someone who backed off to drink and locks them in the potion animation.
The solo pick in this slot. Crow Storm goes here in trios instead — and only if both of its talents come with it.
Called non-negotiable on Dual Blades regardless of what else is run.
Talents
Talents in the creator's stated priority order
Listed in the order they recommend spending points, not in tree order — the first entries are the ones that change how the build functions rather than how hard it hits.
Rated as the talent that closes a gear gap — enough to carry a fight against someone two gear sets ahead.
Taken for the bait rather than for the speed: leaving your own animation sooner is what makes the i-frame line repeatable.
Energy back on Flash Stride, per enemy hit. Energy is what the creator names as the class’s binding constraint.
- Blade Dance02:00
Rated the strongest in the tree: damage amp, a small step, and projectile reflection that returns energy per reflect.
Taken for want of a better option in the row. The creator recalls it as a short ~5% damage window; the in-game tooltip says it grants Super Armor on Spinning Slash, and the tooltip is what the record carries.
Affixes
Affixes to chase
The floor on the purple kit, before anything else is considered.
Four of one or the other on top of the floor. Without a level-4 brew the Vitality line is unaffordable, so Elusive takes the slot.
The trio swap. Dropped in for Vitality or Elusive, or for Strife, depending on the team role.
Execution
The parts that are technique, not gear
Copying the talent tree gets you none of this. These are the patterns the creator demonstrates on camera.
The i-frame bait, in order 00:00
Walk in rather than opening. Let them swing. Eat the swing with the Shadow Strike cast. Recast behind them while the recovery is still playing. The whole build is arranged so this sequence is repeatable — Lightweight shortens your own recovery, Nimble shortens the cooldown, and Excitement pays for the next one.
A ranged opponent is an energy source 02:00
Blade Dance reflects projectiles and returns energy for each reflection. Against a Blackarrow or a Sorcerer that turns the matchup the class is supposed to struggle with into the one that funds it.
Honest limits
What this build is bad at
A build page without this section is an advertisement.
- The opening depends on reading an animation. Against someone who does not commit to a swing there is nothing to bait, and the class has no second plan.
- Energy, not damage, is what runs out. A missed Flash Stride or a whiffed Blade Dance costs the next exchange as well as this one.
- The affix line assumes a level-4 brew. Below that the build is a different, worse build, and the creator says so rather than pretending the kit scales down.
- One talent pick is taken because the row has nothing better in it, not because it is good.
