Patch 15 September 2026 update
Updated 2026-09-20

Burst Rune

In-game tooltip: hold to chant, then call down a runic impact on the target area, dealing Magic Damage to all enemies within range and recovering Psionic Energy based on the number of enemies hit. The Burst Rune leaves rune energy on the ground for a period of time. Enemies who come into contact with the rune energy will be marked by the rune; after a delay the mark explodes, dealing Magic Damage and inflicting stagger.

When to use it

The only Reverent rune captured that pays its own resource back, and it scales with how many enemies the impact catches — so its value is a function of how stacked the fight is. No creator tier placement was captured with it.

Builds using this

  • Seer — Reverent catalyst, ranged supportLichKArthus explains it at 02:30
The main pressure tool: a wide, relatively far-reaching area hit that damages, staggers and leaves a debuff which detonates for roughly the initial damage again and staggers a second time. That second stagger is a scheduled kill window rather than a lucky one — the creator says the timing is learnable and that he cannot teach it, only that you practise it.
  • Seer — Reverent SoloNazori explains it at 00:30
“Never take this without the talent” — it does roughly half damage bare. Direct hits burst, and anyone marked eats the delayed damage, which is “fairly guaranteed” against melee: even a miss zones them.

What the balance passes changed

  • 2026-08-28 · Changed
Fixed: the skill could strip an enemy’s invulnerability as they left a Mist Lord’s room. Invulnerability at those doorways is the protection the 19 August update added on the way in, and this closes the way out of it.

Direction is the patch note’s own word, not a verdict on whether the skill is now good. Patch notes and update history.
