Patch 23 September 2026 update
Updated 2026-09-23

Mistfall Hunter September 23 Patch Notes

The 23 September maintenance update: Golden Woodling goes live on the 24th, weekend supplies move from mail to Weekend Surprise, and Rock Scatter Warhammer Sling is trimmed.

23 September 2026 · client update

A two-hour maintenance window from 08:00 UTC+0 on 23 September, with matchmaking closed from 07:30 and a client update from your platform store required afterwards — the second update since launch to take the servers down rather than land live. It dates Golden Woodling (live 24 September, 02:00 UTC+0), turns the weekend Combat Supply mails into a weekly Weekend Surprise claim worth one Pro and two Elite bags, and trims the Rock Scatter version of Warhammer Sling; most of the rest is Seer fixes and stuck-in-terrain repairs.

Weekend supplies change twice: what you get, and how you get it

Two weeks ago the weekend event was three separate mails — a Pro Combat Bag at 00:00 on Friday, another on Saturday and an Elite Combat Bag on Sunday, each on your server’s clock and each expiring 24 hours after it was sent, so a single Sunday login lost two of the three. This update replaces the mails with an in-game event, [Weekend Surprise], and changes the contents: Pro Combat Bag ×1 and Elite Combat Bag ×2, “claimable weekly”, until the end of Season 1. That is one Pro bag traded for one Elite bag, and it removes the mail mechanism the per-night deadlines came from.

  • What the post does not say: which days the event is open, or whether an unclaimed week carries over. “Claimable weekly” is the whole of it. Until the first weekend under the new system has been observed, treat the old three-night habit as the safe one.
  • Season 1 still has no published end date, so “until the end of Season 1” is no more a date here than it was on 9 September.
  • Separate and additive: [7-Day Surprise], a login event from the end of this maintenance, with Pip’s Rare Pouch Voucher named among its rewards. It also runs to the end of Season 1, and no day-by-day reward table is published.

Golden Woodling gets a date — and still nothing else

Golden Woodling has been on the Season 1 roadmap since 5 August as a single sentence in the Phase III panel: a rare Woodling “disguised as precious treasure”. For seven weeks that sentence was the entire published record. This post dates it: the [Golden Woodling] event goes live on 24 September 2026 at 02:00 UTC+0 and runs until the end of Season 1. You find and defeat Golden Woodlings in matches for bounty rewards. That is everything it adds.

  • Not published: which maps it spawns on, how rare it is, how much health it has, or what the bounty pays. Any spawn rate or drop table you see for it before the event has run was not written by Bellring.
  • It is the first Phase III item with a date. The Ancestor Tree event and the Season 2 clues from the same panel are still undated, so this is not the start of Phase III as a whole — only of this one entry.
  • The Gylden Rush cosmetic with a Golden Woodling head is a different thing from the creature, and nothing in this post touches it.

The Warhammer nerf is one talent, not the sling

The only numeric change in the balance section is Mercenary: each rock [Warhammer Sling] launches deals less damage when the [Rock Scatter] talent is active. The post excludes charged casts under [Powerful Rock Sling] in so many words, and the developer note names the target — high-burst combos built around Rock Scatter, whose damage “significantly exceeded our design expectations”. As with every pass since launch, no figure is published.

  • If your Mercenary does not take Rock Scatter, this line does not touch you. The Skullcrusher PvP build on this site takes Warhammer Sling for its uncharged level-2 follow-up and not Rock Scatter, so it is unaffected by the wording as published.
  • Sorcerer gets one fix: a Blackarrow [Paralysis Arrow] hit could stop you casting [Fire Bolt], [Thunderstrike] or [Meteor Charm] until they had fully channelled.
  • Seer gets the largest block, all fixes: Reverent Seer dodge distance, [Burst Rune] affecting teammates, [Opportunist Strike] stun not scaling with the [Curse] affix, [Psionic Orb] after a dodge, Blasphemer [Paralysis Sigil] refusing to cancel, and a controller conflict that could bind two skills to one [Switch Rune] combination.
  • [Breakaway] could malfunction under continuous hits or with skills cast inside its window, and colliding with an enemy mid-skill could push you into a wall. Both fixed, for every class.

The Underlord chest exploit, kill credit, and a repair cut nobody announced

Three lines change how runs pay out rather than how they play. In Hallowgrove Chaos Trio the reward chests from the [Underlord Speed Challenge] in the Supreme Hall could be opened repeatedly; that is fixed. Barrier teleportation after a Mist Lord or Underlord challenge now makes you fully immune — damage, stagger, crowd control and debuffs — where before enemy damage could still land. And kill attribution is reworked so a PvP kill is credited less often to fall damage, PvE damage or the Gyldenmist.

  • Under “Previously Updated Content”: the Gyldenblod needed to repair Legendary equipment was reduced, and durability loss on defeat was slightly reduced. The post files this as already shipped. It had no announcement of its own, so this is the first time it is in writing — and, as usual, with no figures.
  • Match History gains a report button on the damage breakdown tab, so the player who killed you can be reported from there after the match.
  • A match now shows which battlefield server you are on. Until now that was only readable from the region you queued in.
  • PlayStation controllers are natively supported on PC. On Xbox PC, the prompt for toggling player codenames showed the wrong button; that is fixed, along with controller navigation across the Wardrobe, Mall, Camp, Inventory, Skills and Loadout screens.
  • Also fixed: gravestones that could not be looted, Hallowgrove’s Unstuck failing in certain terrain, being stuck mid-air after a fall, the [Soul Ferry] extraction loop still audible after you leave, Fate Altar errors during a Soul Harvest, TAAU anti-aliasing flicker on some hardware, and a false “Sold Out” prompt on Damaged gear in the Loadout screen.

The published builds this pass moved

Each of these names a pick the 23 September class balance pass changed, so the build is not merely from a class that was touched — the patch moved a button its creator told you to press.

Derived from the balance record rather than written by hand, so it cannot describe a patch two builds old. Builds whose class was touched without one of their own picks being named are not listed here — they are on the builds index, each stating the patch it was recorded against.

Mistfall Hunter September 23 Patch Notes FAQ

It adds three events — [Golden Woodling] from 24 September 02:00 UTC+0, a [7-Day Surprise] login event, and [Weekend Surprise], which replaces the weekend Combat Supply mails with a weekly claim of one Pro and two Elite Combat Bags. Mercenary’s [Warhammer Sling] does less damage per rock with the [Rock Scatter] talent, Seer and Sorcerer get fixes, the Underlord Speed Challenge chest exploit in Hallowgrove Chaos Trio is closed, PlayStation controllers are supported natively on PC, and a long list of stuck-in-terrain and UI bugs is fixed.

Ships Golden Woodling from 24 September to the end of Season 1, the 7-Day Surprise login event, Weekend Surprise replacing weekend mail with Pro Combat Bag ×1 and Elite Combat Bag ×2 weekly, a Rock Scatter Warhammer Sling damage reduction, Seer and Sorcerer fixes, battlefield-server display, Match History reporting, Underlord Speed Challenge chest fixes, barrier-teleport invincibility and terrain/controller reliability fixes.
  • Weekend Rewards Are Now Live — 9 September 2026Official — the post that opens the weekend Combat Supplies event, running from the weekend of 11 September until the end of Season 1. One Pro Combat Bag at 00:00 every Friday, one more at 00:00 every Saturday and one Elite Combat Bag at 00:00 every Sunday, each sent to in-game mail on the server’s own clock (International UTC+0, Oceania UTC+10, North America UTC-8) and each claimable for 24 hours after it is sent — three windows, not one. The same post is the only source for the dynamic player cap applied by a server-side update the same day, which lets every game mode start a match with fewer players.
  • September 15 Live Update — 15 September 2026Official — a no-downtime update at 08:00 UTC+0 requiring a client update from the app store afterwards. The fifth class balance pass and the broadest one since launch: every one of the six classes is named, and unlike 19 August and 3 September it is mostly bug fixes with small numeric moves. Carries the season-task easing that follows on from 28 August ([Soul Hunt] recut to "Complete 1 Soul Harvest while staying alive", [All or Nothing] to "Defeat 1 Gyldhunter", and the single-session reset restriction removed from [Battle-Tested] and [Preserving the Truth]), stackable-item stacking in Pip’s Pouch, and the one genuinely new piece of infrastructure detail Bellring has published: non-CN servers moved from AWS EFS to EBS, named as the resolution of rare hitches over five seconds caused by log I/O disk-write bottlenecks. Also the first post to state that Execute no longer triggers the [Smiting] affix and that the [Fervor] affix damage boost is reduced.
  • August 28 Server Maintenance Update — published 27 August 2026Official — and the first update since launch delivered behind a maintenance window rather than live: roughly two hours from 06:30 UTC+0 on 28 August, with matchmaking closed from 06:00 and a client update from the app store required afterwards. Carries the Season and Contract Task easing pass Bellring wrote in response to difficulty feedback (lower kill counts, “execute” requirements changed to “defeat”, equipment-value conditions changed to rarity, container-search Contract tasks removed, Daily Task reward raised from 30 Contract Sigils to 40), a new Oceania server, enemy nameplates removed from matches to curb cross-teaming, Soul of Return stack limit cut to 1, two rubberbanding reductions, and the third class balance pass — the one that removes invincibility frames from Mercenary dodges under Leap Step, Dynamic Charge and Relentless Advance.
