When to use it
Sourced from square gems in helmet and trousers and as a roll on boots, where two of them stack; a camp NPC also brews it as a temporary drink. Its value is positional rather than statistical: it converts height into a route. In PvP that means dropping off ledges a pursuer has to path around, which is the whole premise of one launch-week build; in PvE it means descending directly to the next chest instead of walking the long way. Both uses turn up in the same week from creators who plainly were not watching each other.
Builds using this
No build on this site currently lists this affix. It is documented here because a source describes it, not because a creator built around it.
Where this comes from
Ryan an the world — Withered Knight One Shot Build on 500 Gold — opens at 00:40, where the affix is explained.
A second source describes it independently:
Sources for this page
- Ryan an the world — Withered Knight One Shot Build on 500 Gold — Launch build, published 7 August 2026. The whole build is an Ethereal stack — helmet and trouser square gems plus two Ethereal rolls on boots — used to survive ledge drops other players cannot follow. Source for what Ethereal does and where it is sourced.
- Side Quest — How to FARM GOLD (Gildenblood) in Mistfall Hunter — Launch build, published 8 August 2026. Independent corroboration of Ethereal from a completely different use case: a PvE loot route that drops off high ground to skip descents rather than to bait a chaser.
